This Whare Tūpuna or ancestral meeting house is named after an ancient mariner who arrived to these islands of Hawai’i. The marae is a unique place where many cultural traditions and customs continue to be practiced. Te Arohanui o Te Iwi Māori translates as the “Great Love of the Māori People”.
